ABC-ARTE develops its programme across Genoa and Milan, bringing historical research into dialogue with contemporary practices. For nearly two decades, the gallery has pursued an in-depth investigation of major international figures of the post-war period and the Neo-Avant-Gardes, with particular attention to the languages of abstraction and their critical reappraisal in the present. Alongside this research, ABC-ARTE supports younger generations through practices that examine form, material, space and the processes of contemporary art.

The historic Genoa gallery, located in the city centre and overlooking the arcades of the Mercato Orientale, constitutes the original core of ABC-ARTE and its relationship with the Italian art scene. ABC-ARTE ONE OF in Milan, situated in Piazza Sant’Eustorgio and close to the Museo Diocesano and the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, extends this trajectory through an experimental and international programme open to site-specific projects, younger generations and different modes of exhibition-making.

Each exhibition, as well as projects developed or supported within museums and public institutions, takes shape within a broader critical and curatorial framework. Exhibitions, research, institutional collaborations and publishing form a single field of activity. ABC-ARTE’s publications, developed in dialogue with artists, curators and international scholars, accompany its projects over time as instruments of interpretation, documentation and the construction of cultural memory.
