The Museu Histórico da Cidade in Rio de Janeiro presents "Jardim Atravessado", an exhibition bringing together 14 paintings by Antonio Kuschnir created at different stages of his artistic practice.
The show brings into dialogue everyday scenes, botanical landscapes, mythological figures, and imagery of care, violence, and martyrdom. Through floral motifs, ornamentation, apparitions, and small unexplained events, the exhibition revisits recurring themes in the artist's work. A central focus of the display is the figure of Saint Sebastian, patron saint of Rio de Janeiro, featured in two new paintings created specifically for this occasion.
