On Tuesday, November 3, ABC-ARTE—in collaboration with the non-profit cultural association “ALAN BEE – Art that Pollinates the World”—launched a series of educational workshops for primary schools. The first session welcomed three classes from the Manfredi School (IC Quinto Nervi).
Inspired by the life and structure of the beehive, the project bridges contemporary art, civic education, and environmental awareness. Through a direct, hands-on experience of the artworks, children are encouraged to reflect on sustainability, respect for nature, equitable resource distribution, gender equality, inclusion, and cooperation.
The gallery is opening its doors to Genoa's school groups participating in the project THE SCHOOL AS A BEEHIVE, offering guided tours and creative workshops designed to engage pupils in an entirely free journey of discovery and participation.
Established in 2023, the educational initiative aims to share the artistic and environmental vision of Alan Bee, an anonymous contemporary artist who draws fundamental inspiration from nature, and specifically the world of bees, for his work.
Through the universal language of art, the project invites children to consider the value of biodiversity, the role of collaboration in achieving sustainability, and each individual's responsibility in protecting our planet.
At the end of the visit, every pupil will receive a complimentary copy of the book ALAN BEE AND SUSTAINABILITY, presented at Palazzo Tursi on May 25, 2026. It serves as a gift to take home, allowing the journey through nature, art, and sustainability to continue with their families—because every child can become a small seed of change and help pollinate the world through their own actions!
